10 Simple Production Steps Towards Your Interior Book Design:

I think visually and have a great sense of balance and structure. These steps summarize what you can expect during the production process of your interior book design and how we’ll be working together. You should know that I don’t use any templates. Each interior is unique because it’s inspired in its design by the subject matter. That's why each of my interior designs have there own unigue look.

1. GETTING TO KNOW YOUR BOOK

We’ll have a friendly in-depth phone conversation about your book's subject matter and demographic to establish a solid design direction. We’ll talk about the complexity of your manuscript, which may include images, graphs/charts, lists, multiple tier titles.

2. YOUR QUOTE

Once we’ve discussed all the details of your manuscript, I’ll approximate the amount of time to create your book’s interior, and email you an accurate quote.

3. HAS YOUR MANUSCRIPT BEEN EDITED?

Expert copy editors, proofreaders or indexers are available under my resource link.

4. YOUR MANUSCRIPT AND/OR PHOTOS

If you have photos or artwork; email a Zip file, upload, or mail me a DVD/CD-Rom containing them. Your manuscript can be emailed to me in a word-processing program such as Microsoft Word.Photos can be provided as photographs for scanning or image files. If you plan to scan your photos, consult with me first so that they are scanned at a proper size and resolution if you’re uncertain.

5. I'LL COLLABORATE WITH YOUR PRINTER

I’ll gather all the proper printing requirements from your printer to properly prepare your files, and to get the best print quality out of your printed book.

6. GETTING TO THE RIGHT INTERIOR BOOK DESIGN LAYOUT

Based on our initial discussion I’ll create a chapter page and a few pages thereafter containing all elements of your interior, for you to view and get a sense/feel of your interior design. The layout can be ‘tweaked’ as needed to your 100% satisfaction. Remember; I don’t use any templates, your layout is inspired by your subject matter. That is why you’ll notice on my website every interior looks unique.Once you approve the layout, I’ll proceed and complete your interior pages.

7. PROOFING FOR CORRECTIONS UNTIL IT'S 100% APPROVED

I’ll email you a web friendly PDF for your first spell proofing. You’ll send me back any text corrections emailed as a marked up PDF or an itemized list. I’ll send you back the corrected interior PDF. We’ll repeat the process until it’s 100%.

8. A READY FOR PRINT PDF FOR PROOFING

Your complete interior book design is emailed to you as a ready for print PDF for a final proofing.

9. YOUR INTERIOR BOOK DESIGN IS READY FOR PRINT

Once approved, I’ll email you a print ready version for you to send to your printer. Or if you prefer, I can email or upload your interior design to your printer directly.

10. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PUBLISHED BOOK

You’re a published author. I’ll email you your interior file for safekeeping. Includes: InDesign file (your interior book design, photos, fonts, and all other elements that were used in your book design), your ready-for-print PDF file, and a web friendly PDF of your book for marketing.

This guide is straight forward guaranteeing from start to finish that your vision is achieved for your final interior book design and that you're 100% satisfied in the end.
